.....A new year and a new look.... for MooLyn

My heart says thank you to the bovine who provided my new mitral valve!

On Oct. 29, 2008, I received a tissue valve replacement for my defective mitral valve. I have progressed well and am enjoying
cardiac rehab twice weekly at the local hospital. I plan to continue with the rehab after the initial treatment is done in late March. It's great to feel so much more energized - amazing what modern medicine can do these days. I am looking forward to Spring now and my outdoor activities - ya-hoo!

My admonition to all of you - TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR HEART AND IT WILL TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOU!

Here I am with a BHS classmateThis photo taken at our Public Library with a BHS classmate in Sept. 2007, just prior to a group picture of our classmates in front of the Library. At our 50th class reunion, our class donated $7,000+ for use in the Children's Library. I'm hoping to take some photos of what the gift was used for and put them on our classes' website.

Hi, I'm Marilyn - aka MooLyn

Cocoa - #1 Cat

Cocoa - Queen of the House

I live in the original family home with my 3 sassy cats (pictured to the left). They keep life very interesting. The home has not changed much except for a new paint job and removing one maple tree and tall pine tree in front. I've added or enlarged flower beds around the house and will continue as my health permits to concentrate on east side of house next. I enjoy gardening, like mom did. Many, many memories are stored up in this home and many more still to be made as I welcome home my family and friends. It's wonderful to reminisce as we share times together here. The door is always open and I hope you will join me one of these days for a visit. It's probably best you give me a call before coming to make sure I am home as I'm in and out at times. I retired after 40 yrs. with the State of Wisconsin in 2003 and I can tell you retirement is great!

Patches - #2 Cat

Patches -#2 Callie's brother

Cocoa is 10 yrs. old & ruled supreme until I rescued Patches & Callie, brother and sister, now 5. Cocoa didn't welcome them initially, but eventually she realized they were here to stay so let them know she was still "the queen bee" here. She and Patches play well together, however, she tolerates Callie. And Callie is like the big sister watching over her brother. It's amazing, but peace reigns here, most of the time.

My Birdhouse Collection

My birdhouse collection

Callie - #3 Cat

Callie - Patches' sister

One does not have to look around my house much to realize I like birds, and birdhouses. This collection began about 7 years ago, while I was still working. Initially my sister-in-law Mary gave me two birdhouses, then a friend at work gave me several others, and I had the "birdhouse bug". From then to now, the collecting continues, altho I've not much room left on this stand I bought to display them. Mom loved birds, especially hummingbirds and cardinals and so I have just carried on the tradition I guess, to include birdhouses. Most rooms of the house have birds or cats in one form or another and in the case of cats, the real thing. I'm hoping to spruce up the enclosed back porch to include both also.

Lyn it looks like you are getting the hang of this stuff great job with the new layout. I am proud of you for digging in and finding out how things work. Did you know that you can put a table inside a table so that you cam make - each box in like your blog have layout to adjust pictures and text etc. Keep up the good work.
